Nigel originates from
Essex, England and began his brass playing at the age of 8. From the age of 12 to 16 he studied euphonium and music theory
at the
Colchester Institute Music School. He then served in the
Royal Air Force (RAF) primarily as an electronics
engineer but also played euphonium and conducted in a number of
the bands of the RAF Voluntary Band and Salvation Army Bands. In
2004 he completed his service and moved from Cambridgeshire to
Kävlinge, Sweden.
